Quang Thang House (built early 1700s?)
Quang Thang House is an old merchant home at 77 Tran Phu Street, said to have been built about 300 years ago. However, this may be too early a date, given that several of the surrounding houses which have been reliably dated are much newer. For example, 65 Tran Phu dates from 1939, and 81 Tran Phu is from 1898. Corner houses on the same block do date from the 18th century--1767 for 47 Le Loi, and 1785 for 53 Tran Phu.
Age aside, the home is an excellent example of typical Hoian style merchant architecture.
Location
The approximate location of the house is 15.877053' N, 108.329009' E (WGS 84 map datum).
