Wat Phra That Haripunchai (present buildings 15th century onward)
Wat Phra That Haripunchai stands in the center of Lamphun and is reputed to have been founded in 1150 by King Adityaraja, who built the wat to enshrine a Buddha relic found in an urn in his palace garden. The wat is of enormous size, with numerous outbuildings sprawled around the inner Putthawat (enclosure) that surrounds the key central buildings.
