Wat Phra Yuen (built 1331 onward)
Wat Phra Yuen is a largely ruined temple located in downtown Chiang Mai. It was built by Phaya Khamfoo, the son of Phaya Saenphoo, in 1331 to store 140 relics. The chedi was damaged in the mid-17th century, whereupon Chao Luang Thipphanetr ordred Phaya Luang Chaichit to restore it in 1638. A signpost on site indicates that other structures--including the viharn, may have existed, but their remnants have not yet been located on site.
