The tiny shrine to the god of Palgong mountain. Koreans traditionally
believe that each mountain in the country is guarded by a spirit who takes
the form of an old man. Usually he is accompanied by a tiger.
A properly maintained shrine discourages the mountain God from interfering
in the affairs of the temple.
