The Garden of Cultivation is located in the northwest quadrant of the old city of Suzhou. It was founded by the Ming Royal Academician Wen Zhenmang.

According to the author's GPS, the Garden of Cultivation lies at approximately 31 18.91091' north, 120 36.30573' east (WGS84 map datum).
