British Barracks (pre World War II)

These barracks at Fort Sentosa were used by British troops in the years preceding World War II. The area in front of them, now used as a parking lot, once served as a marching ground for parades. The barracks were used up until 1942, when Japanese soldiers overran Singapore and placed the British forces in concentration camps. Currently the barracks are in a sorry state of decay, but the Sentosa development board is trying to find a buyer who can restore the buildings.
