Po San Teng Temple
Po San Teng is dedicated to Tua Pek Kong (Guardian deity of the land and of the 12,500 graves on the nearby hill called 'Bukit China'). It is often incorrectly assumed that the temple is associated with Admiral Zheng He, a Ming-dynasty navigator. In fact, there is no evidence of Zheng He's involvement in the history of the temple.
The name of this temple literally translates as "Precious Hill temple". Adjacent to the entrance is the so-called Sultan's Well which was the main source of fresh water for the city from the 15th century onward.
