Age-old gilded wooden
Buddha figures, mostly in the “Calling for Rain” mudra with hands and arms
clasped at the sides. The image on the right is in the Abhayamudra attitude of
dispelling fear and offering protection to those giving it honor—similar to that
of the sacred paladin of the city, the Pra Bang.
