Asakura Hall, named after the parishioner Asakura Sadakage, who built the
hall in 1510. It is dedicated to the eleven-faced god Kannon and
to Jizo. The hall was rebuilt in 1633 following a massive fire that
destroyed all but the western buildings of the temple. (photo:
