The narrow passageway between the inner and outer quarters.  The door into the sarangchae (left) is quite small in comparison to the door to the inner quarters (right).  This passageway is purposely constructed here so that it cannot be seen from the front of the house, even when the sarang taechong windows are open.  This is important because women could move here without being seen in the more public front yard.
