Tomb of King Siljikgun - 실직군 왕릉 (悉直郡 王陵) (originally 10th century, repaired 19th century)
King Siljikgun was the grandson of King Gyeongsun, the last king of the Silla Kingdom. His real name was Kim Wi-ung and he is honored by the Samcheok Kim clan as their founding ancestor. In 1838, his descendants excavated the tomb in order to find relics. They discovered a memorial stone with a short history of the king along with many earthen vessels. In 1937 the tomb was repaired and various stone figures were arranged around the perimeter. Legend says that when local villagers dug out the earth to secretly bury a body around here, a fountain gushed from the pit and a white tiger appeared and ran away.
