Sagoedang Gotaek House - 사괴당 고택 (四槐堂 古宅) (built late 18th, early 19th century onward)
Sagoedang Gotaek was built between the late 18th to early 19th centuries. It is located in Sanggeumgok-ri village, which primarily consists of Wonju Byeon and Hamyang Bak families. The house is now empty, but the lineage who historically lived here have occupied this location since the time of Byeon Ungnyeong (1518-1586), a great-grandson of Byeon Hui-ri (1435-1505), the progrenitor of the Cheomchugong branch of the Byeon clan.
Perhaps the most unusual feature of the estate is the two-story gatehouse to the east of the house. In traditional Korean residences, it is extremely rare to find two-story outbuildings.
