Nampyeong Mun-ssi Memorial - 김석몽처 남평문씨 열려문 (1764)

This tiny memorial was built in 1764 by the government to honor the outstanding filial piety and moral character shown by the wife of Kim Seokmong, a woman who hailed from the Nampyeong Mun clan. During the late Joseon dynasty it was quite common for small memorials such as this to be erected by the government as a means of publically honoring and memorializing exceptional Confucian behavior in both men and women.
