Hanbyeokdang Pavilion - 한벽당 (寒碧堂) (built 1404)
This exquisite pavilion was built in 1404 by Choe Dam, a notable figure who assisted in the founding of the Joseon dynasty. It got its name, 'Hanbyeok-dang', since the water running beneath the pavilion was very cool and white. Many poets and literati visited Hanbyeokdang. It was well noted throughout the Honam region as a scenic spot for reciting poetry and viewing scenery.
