Wonji Jeongsa Pavilion - 원지정사 (遠志精舍) (built 1573)
This jeongsa, or pavilion, was built in 1573 by Yu Seong-nyong (1542-1607), a Confucian scholar and statesman of the Joseon dynasty (1392-1910), when he returned to his hometown to mourn the death of his father. He was serving in the Office of Special Counselors in Seoul at the time. He also stayed here later in his life to recover from an illness.
The building comprises a wooden-floored hall and two rooms with ondol, or heated floors. It has a wooden verandah in the front.
A pavilion named Yonjaru is located to its west. The two story structure with a hipped and gabled roof was restored in 1781 and extended in 1979.
