Ghats of Varanasi (indefinite age)

Varanasi is famous for its "ghats", or ceremonial stairs, lining the west bank of Ganges river running through the city. Worshippers use the ghats for ceremonial bathing. While some of the ghats are new, many are hundreds of years old.
