Though the actual construction date is not known, the style of the house suggests it was built in the mid Joseon period (1392-1910). The house originally comprised two buildings but one was lost during a flood in 1934. The remaining building, which served as the anchae, or inner quarters, has six pillars in the front and back and three at each side and a gabled roof.
Of special note is a small wall blocking the view of the inner quarters from the men's outer quarters, the sarangchae. This was added sometime after 1934 as the original detached sarangchae was destroyed in the flood.
The house has been converted into a small restaurant catering to tourists.
(The house is designated important folklore material #87)
