This old home was found by chance when the author and local resident Lee Baek-kyu were returning to Gangneung after visiting the nearby Choe Seon-pyeong house. It sits at the north side of a strip of farmland fronting the same river that runs by the Choe Seon-pyeong house. Unfortunately, this home is not registered by the Korean government as a protected cultural property, so there are no funds available to ensure its preservation. The present owner of the home, an elderly woman, commented that she had recently sought to have the roof repaired, but could not afford it since workman skilled in historic preservation are expensive to hire.

The owner kindly permitted us to take pictures of the estate. For reference, it sits at 37 degrees 52.7003' N, 128 degrees 48.6419' E (WGS 84 datum), according to GPS data collected on-site by the author.
